A roof can fail in three ways — the materials, the labor, or the workmanship. The GAF Golden Pledge® Limited Warranty addresses all three on eligible single-family detached residences: a Lifetime limited warranty term for qualifying manufacturing defects and workmanship, with manufacturing-defect coverage non-prorated for 50 years and workmanship coverage non-prorated for 25 years (Timberline HDZ® / HDZ® RS) or 30 years (eligible designer shingles, including Grand Sequoia®).
1. Material Defects
If a GAF component fails on its own — a manufacturing defect in the shingles, underlayment, leak barrier, starter, ridge cap, or ventilation — it carries a Lifetime limited term, non-prorated for the first 50 years. Not just the field shingle: the whole qualifying GAF system.
2. Labor
The work required to make it right on an approved covered claim — including tear-off and disposal when necessary. Many standard warranties leave much of this cost with the homeowner after the early years.
3. Workmanship (Misapplication)
If the roof itself was installed incorrectly — wrong nailing pattern, bad flashing, anything not to GAF spec — that's misapplication, and it carries a Lifetime limited workmanship term — non-prorated for 25 years with Timberline HDZ / HDZ RS, or 30 years with eligible designer shingles like Grand Sequoia. Coverage becomes prorated after the applicable non-prorated period.

How the GAF Golden Pledge Works
The GAF Golden Pledge® Limited Warranty provides a Lifetime limited warranty term for qualifying manufacturing defects and workmanship on eligible single-family detached residences. Manufacturing-defect coverage is non-prorated for 50 years. Workmanship coverage is non-prorated for 25 years with Timberline HDZ® and Timberline HDZ® RS shingles, and 30 years with eligible designer shingles, including Grand Sequoia®. Coverage becomes prorated after the applicable non-prorated period. Tear-off and disposal are included when necessary for an approved covered claim. Westmark is authorized to offer the Golden Pledge on qualifying GAF roofing systems.

The GAF WindProven™ Limited Wind Warranty
The Golden Pledge isn't the only manufacturer warranty your roof qualifies for. Because Westmark installs Timberline® shingles with LayerLock® Technology (including the Title-24 HDZ-RS) as part of a complete GAF system, qualifying roofs are also eligible for the GAF WindProven™ Limited Wind Warranty — the industry's first wind warranty with no maximum wind speed limit. It comes at no additional cost and requires no registration. Eligibility and coverage terms are defined by GAF's WindProven Limited Wind Warranty.

Most wind warranties cap out at a set mph. WindProven has no maximum wind speed limitation — your shingles are covered no matter how hard the wind blows.
No Named-Storm Exclusion
Many wind warranties carve out hurricanes and tropical storms with a 'named storm' clause. WindProven has none — coverage holds no matter the storm.

Golden Pledge vs. Standard Warranty
The Golden Pledge vs. the Standard GAF Warranty
GAF offers more than one warranty level. Here's how the standard GAF Roofing System Limited Warranty compares to the Golden Pledge — and why the difference matters. 'Lifetime' means as long as the eligible original owner, or eligible subsequent owner following a proper transfer, owns the qualifying single-family detached residence. Other owners and property types may receive different coverage. Coverage is subject to GAF's complete warranty terms, eligibility requirements, limitations, and exclusions.
The Standard GAF Roofing System Limited Warranty
A standard GAF Roofing System Limited Warranty can cover qualifying GAF shingles and accessories and includes installation labor during the initial 10-year non-prorated period. It does not provide manufacturer-backed coverage for installation errors — if the roof was installed wrong, that isn't the manufacturer's responsibility under the standard limited warranty.
The GAF Golden Pledge® Limited Warranty
The Golden Pledge extends manufacturing-defect protection to a 50-year non-prorated period, includes tear-off and disposal when necessary for an approved covered claim, and adds a Lifetime limited workmanship term with a 25- or 30-year non-prorated workmanship period, depending on the shingle. Westmark is authorized to offer the Golden Pledge on qualifying GAF roofing systems and registers it on every qualifying project.

DaVinci Lifetime Limited Material Warranty
DaVinci synthetic shake and slate systems carry a Lifetime Limited Material Warranty backed by DaVinci — coverage against manufacturing defects that cause leaks for the lifetime of the original homeowner. Westmark installs DaVinci systems to DaVinci's specifications, the standard the warranty requires.

Full Replacement, Years 1–10

Transferable Coverage
